Director of Family Counseling Ministries
Dr. Donald A. Dunlap, former Senior Editor and a staff writer on
counseling and family for the Christianity.com Network, has conducted over
20,000 counseling appointments during his ministerial career. He is a leading
Pastoral Counselor and a pioneer in the placement of Pastoral Counselors in the
offices of Christian physicians. As founder and director of Family Physician
Partners, he has established offices in South Carolina, North Carolina,
Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
Dr. Dunlap is President of Family Life
Association for Ministry and Education and has personally trained and
supervised over 100 Pastoral Counselors through his ongoing internship program.
He has conducted hundreds of Family Life Conferences, Parent Training Seminars,
and Marriage Enrichment Retreats. He is also the current Director of Biblical
Counseling Ministries in Tallahassee, Florida and Brevard, North Carolina.
Don and his wife, Debbi, are the parents of
ten children. Don, a past President of the Florida Parent Educators Association
(state home school organization), and Debbi, a writer, conference leader, and
educational curriculum designer, have educated all of their children at home
throughout their school age years. Their oldest child is married, and he and
his wife are expecting Don and Debbi’s first grandchild in March, 2001. The two
oldest Dunlap daughters currently attend college. All three of the oldest
children graduated from high school at home. The seven younger children (ages
three through thirteen years), educated at home since birth, continue their
education under Don and Debbi’s tutelage.
Dr. Dunlap holds an undergraduate degree in
Child Development from Florida State University, and a Master’s Degree in
Education and Theology (specializing in Marriage and Family Counseling) from
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree
from Luther Rice Seminary.
